The gerbera daisies that you buy from a grocery store, florist, or
wholesaler will probably come with a plastic tube on the stem. Leave
that on for now - as it will help your flower stem stay strong while you are
letting it get some water.
Cut about an inch off the stems of the gerbera daisies - cut the stem at an
angle.
